Mastering Cultural Differences

A program for Russian and expatriate managers

For many years Russian managers have worked with foreign employees, colleagues and superiors and foreign managers have worked with Russians employees, colleagues and superiors. Time and time again expectations have not been met; misunderstandings and disruptions are daily irritations. Some experienced managers have found their individual solutions, many have not.

In times of growing international cooperation and intensive cross-cultural contacts, in times of enormous financial investments being made across the borders and in times of coming out of the crisis it is even more important than ever that managers do not work ineffectively.

So what is the road to efficiency? How can Russian and foreign managers work together constructively? What are the expectations and the hidden assumptions that prevent a smooth and goal oriented working environment?

A  two-day workshop will delve into the depth of these issues, uncover the reasons for disagreements and equip Russian and foreign managers with answers to those questions and efficient strategies of copying with cross-cultural issues.

The business school of Moscow State University and the ESMT have joined forces to develop a joint program for both English and Russian speaking managers and human resource professionals.

In a number of joint and separate sessions the individual as well as the common issues are explored and put onto a path for solution. A mixture of teaching styles will be employed in order to achieve concrete learnings: presentations, panel discussions, exercises, an interactive/cross-cultural dinner, cases, etc.

Top academics from Russia and Europe will be accompanied by top managers and HR professionals who have found their solutions and are successful in bridging the gap and in delivering high-power results in their companies.
