Derek F. Abell (United Kingdom)
Full biography

Derek F. Abell is the founding president and professor emeritus at ESMT. Before joining ESMT, he was a professor of strategy and marketing at IMD, as well as a professor of technology and management at the Swiss Institute of Technology. Prior to that, he spent more than 10 years as a faculty member at Harvard Business School.

Jamie Anderson (Australia)
Full biography

Jamie Anderson is a visiting faculty member, senior lecturer and independent consultant. Previously, he was lecturer and program director at ESMT and at the Centre for Management Development at London Business School.

Zoltán Antal-Mokos (Hungary)
Full biography

Zoltán Antal-Mokos is an associate professor of strategy and director of the ESMT Executive MBA Program. Before joining ESMT, he was director of the Budapest School of Management and associate dean of the faculty of business administration.

Francis Bidault (France)
Full biography

Francis Bidault is a professor of innovation and strategy and director of the ESMT Full-time MBA program. Before joining ESMT, he was professor and director of the MBA program at IMD, co-director of Theseus Institute in France, and dean of the MBA program there.

Niels Billou (Canada)
Full biography

Niels Billou is an assistant professor at ESMT. Before joining ESMT, he taught executives, MBA students and undergraduates at the Ivey School of Business in Canada, as well as at London Business School.

Gonzalo Chávez (Chile)
Full biography

Gonzalo Chávez is a professor of finance management at the Instituto de Empresa, Madrid, Spain. Prior to that he was professor of finance management at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Chile, and at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de Méjico, Mexico.

Francis de Véricourt (France)
Full biography

Francis de Véricourt is a professor and associate dean of R&D at ESMT. Previously, he was at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, where he taught executive MBA, MBA, executive education and PhD courses. Before joining Duke, he was a visiting researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Rajshri Marie Jayaraman (Canada)
Full biography

Rajshri Jayaraman is an assistant professor at ESMT. Prior to joining ESMT, she was assistant professor and academic coordinator at the Center for Economic Studies, University of Munich.

Konstantin Korotov (Russia)

Full biography

Konstantin Korotov is an assistant professor at ESMT. He conducts research and teaches in the areas of leadership development, identity and modern careers. He has significant leadership coaching experience at ESMT and INSEAD’s Global Leadership Center.

Martin Kupp (Germany)
Full biography

Martin Kupp is head of the Practice Group Technology-based Industries and member of the faculty at ESMT. His research interests focus on strategy, innovation management and business market management.

Niall Lothian (Scotland)
Full biography

Niall Lothian is a faculty member of Heriot-Watt University and a former president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. His research and teaching interests lie in both financial reporting and managerial accounting and control.

Urs Müller (Germany)
Full biography

Urs Müller is head of the Practice Group Consumer Goods and Retail at ESMT. His areas of expertise include strategy, change management and intercultural management. Before coming to ESMT, he was a consultant for A.T. Kearney.

Ayse Öncüler (Turkey)

Ayse Öncüler teaches negotiation analysis and risk management in the executive education and MBA programs at INSEAD. She holds a master´s degree in applied economics and a PhD in decision sciences, both from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Wulff Plinke (Germany)
Full biography

Wulff Plinke is the founding dean of ESMT. Prior to this position, he was professor of industrial marketing management at the Universität Hannover, the Freie Universität Berlin and the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. He has published numerous books and articles in the fields of business strategy in industrial markets, market orientation, relationship marketing, pricing in industrial markets and market-based accounting.

Olaf Plötner (Germany)
Full biography

Olaf Plötner is the managing director of ESMT Customized Solutions and member of the faculty. In addition to these responsibilities, he is a guest lecturer in accounting at the Freie Universität Berlin. He brings with him experience as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group and director at Siemens AG.

Mario Rese (Germany)
Full biography

Mario Rese is an affiliate professor at ESMT while also chairing the business and marketing department at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. He has published on topics such as competitive strategy, customer analysis and marketing metrics.

Lars-Hendrik Röller (Germany)
Full biography

Lars-Hendrik Röller is president of ESMT. Prior to joining ESMT, he was the first chief competition economist of the European Commission. He was a professor at INSEAD from 1987 to 1999, became a director at Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin in 1994 and was appointed professor of industrial economics at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin in 1995.

Christian Schade (Germany)

Christian Schade is a member of the visiting faculty of ESMT and professor at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. In 2002 he was appointed research professor at the German Institute of Economic Research, Berlin.

Erik H. Schlie (Germany)
Full biography

Erik H. Schlie is an assistant professor at ESMT. His previous professional life includes 10 years of international experience in business schools and a position as senior manager at the management consulting unit of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Luc Wathieu (Belgium)
Full biography

Luc Wathieu is professor and associate dean of faculty at ESMT. Prior to joining ESMT, Luc Wathieu was an associate professor of business administration at Harvard Business School. His specific area of interest is marketing, with emphasis on customer behavior and marketing strategy. His papers cover topics such as pricing, differentiation, interactive marketing, adaptive behavior and consumer empowerment.
