ESMT Annual Forum 2009 "Navigating in Turbulent Times Panel"
“In times of crises, leaders are in the spotlight. They may be seen as villains to be held responsible for the misfortunes of those around them, they may be seen as saviors who should put companies and people’s lives back on track, and they may be seen as both. This panel discusses the role of leaders and leadership when things are difficult and uncertain, and when being in a leadership role is particularly challenging.” Konstantin Korotov, Associate Professor, ESMT.
As part of the ESMT Annual Forum on July 1-2, 2009, a panel moderated by ESMT’s Professor Konstantin Korotov engaged in a discussion of the role business leaders play in overcoming the current economic crisis and preventing future ones. The distinguished group of panelists consisted of Prof. Manfred Kets de Vries (ESMT and INSEAD), Prof. Charles O’Reilly (Stanford), Prof. Fred Luthans (U of Nebraska Lincoln), and Georg Graf Valdersee, Managing Partner EMEIA GSA, Ernst & Young.

The Center for Leadership Development Research at ESMT European School of Management and Technology and the Institute of Coaching at Harvard University conduct this two day event, which will bring together leading academics, executive coaches, and HR practitioners interested in building bridges between the rapidly growing industry of executive coaching and the scientific investigation of coaching principles, processes, and results. October 27–30, 2010 in Boston, MA, USA at the Marriot Copley Place in Downtown Boston
Konstantin Korotov will be a commentator at the panel discussion. In this panel discussion, they seek to collapse the dichotomy inherent in the vision of work on one side of the scale and life on the other, replacing it with a model of fully, authentically living the work. Panelists speak to their own deep personal insights, ongoing struggles toward change, pure moments of grace – while moving toward a cohesion where all is fodder for learning, engagement, teaching, becoming.
