Francis de Véricourt

Full Professor and Associate Dean of R&D

Francis de Véricourt joined the ESMT faculty in September of 2007 as a full professor as well as the first associate dean of R&D, where he plays an integral part in guiding the direction of ESMT’s research activities. He was previously associate professor at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and taught Executive MBA, MBA, Executive Education and PhD courses. Prior joining Duke, he was a visiting researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.). He also worked on decision models at Bouygues Telecom, France.

In 2000 Francis received his PhD in Operations Research with honors (cum laude) from the Laboratoire d’Informatique de Paris 6 in collaboration with Ecole Centrale de Paris. He holds both a DEA (diploma of advanced studies) in Applied Mathematics, which is equivalent to an MS, and an Engineering degree in Applied Mathematics and Information Technology from the Grenoble Institute of Technology, France.

Francis’ research interests broadly lie in developing advanced analytical methods to help make better managerial decisions. His recent work has focused on solving dynamic decision problems in service and supply chain management. He is currently developing decision models for health care applications. Francis has published articles in leading academic journals such as Management Science and Operations Research. He has served in a variety of editorial roles and participated in different referee committees such as the review panel for the National Science Foundation’s Service Enterprise Engineering Program, USA.
