Michael C. Burda

ESMT Visiting Faculty

Before joining the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin in 1993 as a professor of Economics, Michael Burda was a visiting professor of Economics at the Economics Department, Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley. He was, as well, a professor of Economics at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France for more than 5 years. Michael Burda is one of the leading researchers in the empirical analysis of labor markets and economies in transition. He identified the rigidities of the German labor market as a cause for the persistent unemployment. His analysis helped to understand the labor market problems in Eastern European countries.
