Derek F. Abell is professor emeritus and is the founding president of ESMT. Before joining ESMT, he was professor of strategy and marketing at IMD. Prior to that, he spent more than 10 years as a faculty member at Harvard Business School. DBA, Harvard Business School.

Jamie Anderson (Australia)
Jamie Anderson is a member of the ESMT visiting faculty and an independent consultant. Jamie’s current research interests focus on business strategy, corporate renewal, strategic innovation and market-shaping innovation.

Zoltán Antal-Mokos (Hungary)
Zoltán Antal-Mokos is associate professor of strategy. Before joining ESMT, he was director of BUESPA, the Budapest School of Management, and associate dean of the faculty of business administration. PhD, London Business School.

Andreas Bernhardt (Germany)
Andreas Bernhardt is a program director at ESMT Customized Solutions and has over 15 years of practical leadership development and coaching experience. He has designed and delivered executive programs for GlaxoSmithKline, B. Braun, BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte, VEW, Wayss & Freytag, Albingia, Metro, Kaufhof and Hugo Boss, and taught sessions on MBA-, young managers- and executive level. Additionally, he launched and redesigned Open Enrollment programs on leadership and general management.

Francis Bidault (France)

Francis Bidault is professor of innovative management and strategy and director of the MBA program. Before joining ESMT, Francis was professor and director of the MBA program at IMD, co-director of Theseus Institute in France and dean of the MBA there. Doctorat d’Etat in management, Université de Montpellier II, Doctorat 3eme-cycle, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Habilitation, Université Lyon III.

Niels Billou (Canada)
Niels Billou is an assistant professor at ESMT. Before joining ESMT, he taught executives, MBA participants and undergraduates at the Ivey Business School in Canada, as well as at London Business School.

Michael C. Burda (USA)
Michael C. Burda is a member of the visiting faculty at ESMT and professor of economics at the School of Business and Economics, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Prior to that he was a visiting professor of Economics at the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley, and professor of Economics at INSEAD.

Christoph Burger (Germany)
Christoph Burger is the head of the practice groups Telecom, Transport, Utilities and General Management at ESMT Customized Solutions. Before that Christoph Burger was a senior manager at Arthur D. Little and vice president of Bertelsmann Buch AG.

Maggie Gorse (USA)
Maggie Gorse is guest lecturer in the ESMT Full-time MBA program. She is also professor of finance and international business at several MBA programs in American and French business schools in Paris. Maggie worked for 12 years at IBM in the EMEA headquarters, holding executive positions at European Financial Management including regional pricing director, where she set the prices for all products and services in 10 countries.

Michał Grajek (Poland)
Michał Grajek is an assistant professor at ESMT. Previously he worked as a research fellow in the unit “Competitiveness and Industrial Change” of the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB). In addition he has conducted research in the Humboldt-University-based project sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research titled “Internet Economy.”

Oliver Günther (Germany)
Oliver Günther is a member of the ESMT visiting faculty and professor and director of the Institute of Information Systems at Humboldt-Universität in Berlin. There he also directs the Berlin-Brandenburg Graduate School of Distributed Information Systems, the Berlin Research Center on Internet Economics, and Humboldt's Electronic Business Forum. He also held positions with the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley and the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Jean M. Hiltrop (Belgium)
Jean M. Hiltrop is a member of the visiting faculty at ESMT and professor of management, Copenhagen Business School Executive MBA program, Denmark. PhD, Tufts University.

Konstantin Korotov (Russia)
Konstantin Korotov is associate professor at ESMT. He has over 10 years of practical leadership development experience in the US, Russia, UK, France, Portugal, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Italy, Germany and Latvia. PhD, INSEAD.

Wulff Plinke (Germany)
Wulff Plinke is founding dean of ESMT. Prior to this position, he was professor of industrial marketing management at Universität Hannover, at Freie Universität Berlin and at Humboldt Universität Berlin. 

Olaf Plötner (Germany)
Olaf Plötner is managing director of ESMT Customized Solutions. In addition to this responsibility, he heads the practice group Technology Based Industries and is a guest lecturer in accounting at Freie Universität Berlin. Dr. rer.pol., Freie Universität Berlin. 

Kenneth J. Pope (United Kingdom)
Kenneth J. Pope is a member of the ESMT visiting faculty. He is a business consultant with some 30 years of experience, as well as a chartered accountant.

Mario Rese (Germany)

Mario Rese is an affiliate professor at ESMT and professor for business administration and marketing at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Dr. rer.pol., Habilitation, Freie Universität Berlin.

Lars-Hendrik Röller (Germany)
Lars-Hendrik Röller is president of ESMT. Before joining ESMT, he was the first chief competition economist of the European Commission. Lars-Hendrik Röller was a professor at INSEAD from 1987 to 1999. In 1994 he became the director of the research unit “Competitiveness and Industrial Change” at the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin (WZB), Europe’s largest social science research center. In 1995 he was appointed professor for industrial economics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His areas of expertise include competition, strategy and regulation.

Christian Schade (Germany)
Christian Schade is a member of the visiting faculty and professor at Humboldt-University Berlin. He is also the director of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies and Innovation Management. In September 2002, he was appointed as research professor of the German Institute of Economic Research (DIW) Berlin.

Erik H. Schlie (Germany)
Erik Schlie is an assistant professor and a member of the founding faculty. His previous professional life includes 10 years of international experience in business schools and industry. PhD, Cambridge Judge Business School.

James K. Seward (USA)
James K. Seward is a member of the visiting faculty. He is an associate professor in the department of finance, investment and banking of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business. PhD, University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Michelle Sisto (USA)
Michelle Sisto is a guest lecturer in the ESMT Full-time MBA program. She has been teaching statistics, quantitative literacy and methods at the International University of Monaco since 1997 and at Theseus Institute / EDHEC in Nice since 2002. Michelle’s research is focused on statistics education and financial mathematics and she has published extensively in these areas.

Stephen Szabo (USA)
Stephen Szabo is a guest lecturer in the ESMT Full-time MBA program. He served as interim dean and associate dean for academic affairs at SAIS; former professor at the National War College; former faculty member at the Foreign Service Institute, Georgetown University and the University of Virginia; past fellow with the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and American Academy (Berlin); current research focuses on German politics, foreign and defense policy and US-European relations; PhD, political science, Georgetown University.

Francisco Székely (Mexico-Hungary)
Francisco Székely is an ESMT visiting faculty member. Prior to joining ESMT, he had a three-year assignment as Mexico’s Deputy Minister of Environment and was the ALCAN professor of environmental management at IMD Lausanne. PhD, Washington University in St. Louis.

Grigory Vilkov (Russia)
Grigory Vilkov is a guest lecturer in the ESMT Full-time MBA program and a lecturer at the Universität Frankfurt. He received his PhD at INSEAD and his MBA at the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration (University of Rochester). Grigory’s academic focus and research interests are in the areas of theoretical asset pricing, use of derivatives in corporate finance and risk management.

Mark A. Young (USA)
Mark A. Young is a member of the visiting faculty at ESMT and an independent consultant, trainer, writer and lecturer in the field of negotiation skills training and analysis. PhD, Humbodlt-Universität Berlin..

Jochen Zimmermann (Germany)
Jochen Zimmerman is a member of the ESMT visiting faculty. He holds the chair for business administration, accounting and controlling at the Universität Bremen. Dr.rer.pol., Universität Mannheim.
