Dr. Andreas Dombret has been a member of the executive board of the Deutsche Bundesbank since 2010. Before joining the Bundesbank, he was Vice Chairman Europe of Bank of America and also Chairman of the Management Board for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. His extensive experience also includes positions at Rothschild, JP Morgan, and Deutsche Bank.

He has a Dr. Rer. Nat. degree in Mathematics and is former Chancellery Minister to Georgia. Since 1993 he had a career in Germany with Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Accenture.

The first method is leading by mission, and the second method is leading by order.” ESMT talked to Colonel Olaf Lindner, Commander of GSG 9, the premier counter-terrorism special forces unit of Germany’s Federal Police. He explained aspects of leadership that can be applied to business.

Colonel Lindner took over the command of GSG 9 in 2005 after having served in several leadership and combat positions within the organization since 1990. He headed the German Police Project Office for the Rebuilding of the Police in Afghanistan and was subproject leader of the project group to reorganize federal police in the Federal Ministry of the Interior.
