ESMT’s MBA scholarship program helps make your goal of an international business career a reality. ESMT offers a number of partial-tuition scholarships for MBA applicants.

Scholarships are allocated based on academic excellence, personal and professional achievement, particularly strong leadership potential, and superior interpersonal skills. MBA scholarships are restricted to self-funded candidates and are applied directly to the applicant’s tuition.

To receive a scholarship, MBA candidates first fill out an online application to the MBA program. All applicants to the MBA program are automatically considered for any available scholarships.

All ESMT MBA scholarship recipients are expected, as a condition of their award, to engage actively in promoting and further developing ESMT and its programs, advocating for future scholarship recipients and being active and engaged ESMT alumni.

Applicants who complete their application to the MBA program by the deadline below, will be automatically considered for an early bird discount on their tuition to the MBA program.

Coding Bootcamp Scholarship - Deadline May 31

Coding Bootcamp Scholarship - Deadline May 31

Knowledge of coding can help applicants to better navigate situations requiring strategy, negotiation, supply chain, leadership and many other aspects of business. Additionally, coding can help graduates work between the tech and business worlds to future-proof their careers. To facilitate this, ESMT has added an optional coding bootcamp to its pre-MBA program, running from July until December.

Applicants who complete their application to the MBA program by the deadline below, can choose to be considered for a scholarship that will cover the cost of their participation in the coding bootcamp, prior to the start of the MBA program. The bootcamp leads to a certificate in coding.

Number of scholarships available: two

Value: € 8,000

Eligibility: Completed applications and a motivational letter explaining why a certificate in coding will be an asset to you as an MBA student and for your career submitted with your application for admission by the deadline.

30% Club Scholarships

30% Club Scholarship

The 30% Club is a global gender diversity campaign which aims to increase the number of women on boards, and throughout the pipeline.  It started in the UK in 2010 with a goal of achieving a minimum of 30% women on FTSE-100 boards - currently the figure stands at 27% up from 12.5%. The 30% Club aims to develop a diverse pool of talent for all businesses through the efforts of its Chair and CEO members who are committed to better gender balance at all levels of their organisations. Business leadership is key to the 30% Club mission, taking the issue beyond a specialist diversity effort and into mainstream talent management.

ESMT and the 30% Club are committed to addressing gender imbalance and to helping more women reach influential positions. The 30% Club/ESMT MBA Scholarship has been established to encourage and support outstanding women who are aspiring towards senior leadership roles.

Number of scholarships available: One

Value: up to € 15,000

Eligibility: Female candidates who have excelled in leadership positions during their career or who have a clear path toward leadership in the future.

Requirements: Candidates should complete the scholarship essay as part of their ESMT online application explaining how they qualify for this scholarship.

GMAT or GRE Scholarship

GMAT or GRE Scholarship

Applicants who submit successful GMAT or GRE (equivalent) scores will be considered for scholarships to acknowlege their success.

Value: GMAT (or GRE equivalent) of 700 or higher       € 4,000
            GMAT (or GRE equivalent) of 650 to 690          € 2,000
           

Eligibility: Applicants will be considered after submitting a completed application to the MBA program including official test results from either the GMAT or GRE. GRE scores will be converted to a GMAT equivalent using this online converter.

Requirements: Applicants must submit official test results no older than five years from the date of application, from either the GMAT or GRE.

German Language Scholarships

German Language Scholarships

Non-native German speaking applicants can will be considered for scholarships based on their German language ability.

Value: German language level B1        € 2,000
            German language level B2       € 3,000
            German language level C1/C2  € 4,000

Eligibility: Applicants will be considered after submitting a completed application to the MBA program including test results from an official test of German language.

Requirements: Applicants must submit official test results, no older than two years from the date of application, from either the telc, TestDaF or Goethe language tests.

Startup Scholarship

The ESMT Alumni Network awards this scholarship to an outstanding applicant with a background in the non-profit sector planning to remain in non-profit after the MBA.

Number of Scholarships available: two

Value: € 5,000 to € 10,000

Eligibility: At least three years experience running your own startup, including equity ownership in the company. This scholarship cannot be combined with the social impact scholarship.

Social Impact Scholarship

Value: € 5,000 to € 10,000

Eligibility: At least three years experience working in a social impact or not-for profit organization. This scholarship cannot be combined with the startup scholarship

Alumni Network Fellowship - non-profit sector

Alumni Network Fellowship - non-profit sector

The ESMT Alumni Network awards this fellowship to an outstanding applicant with a background in the non-profit sector planning to remain in non-profit after the MBA. For more information, please download the Alumni Network Fellowship scholarship brochure.

Value: Full tuition and fees

Eligibility:  Interested candidates must first be accepted to ESMT’s MBA programs and express their interest in the scholarship when applying. In addition to a first degree, applicants must show several years of work experience in a non-profit organization and be committed to returning to the non-profit world. The deadline to apply is August 15.

QS ESMT Diversity Scholarships

QS ESMT Diversity Scholarships

Number of scholarships available: one

Value: € 13,000

Eligibility: Attendance to at least one QS MBA Tour event in the past two years. Minimum GMAT score of 650. Candidates must demonstrate a clear interest in responsible leadership, sustainable development, and technology.

Requirements: Applications for this Scholarship are accepted exclusively by QS. For further information and to apply. Candidates submit an essay on the topic "Describe one event from your professional life where you challenged mainstream thought in a group setting, and describe the outcome, positive or negative" (max. 300 words). Candidates must also submit a complete ESMT MBA application.

The scholarship deadline is September 30.

Regional Scholarships

Regional Scholarships

Requirements: Candidates should complete the scholarship essay as part of their ESMT online application explaining how they qualify for this scholarship. Candidates will be expected to actively promote the school in their country throughout and after their studies, e.g. by serving as an ESMT mentor.

Value: up to € 15,000

 

ESMT Africa Scholarship

Number of scholarships available: three

Eligibility: Candidates with permanent residence in any African country. Candidates are expected to prove their strong intention to promote business development and pursue professional options in Africa within a reasonable timeframe after completion of the program.

 

ESMT Americas Scholarship

Number of scholarships available: three

Eligibility: Candidates with permanent residence in any South, Central or North American country. Candidates are expected to prove their strong intention to promote business development and pursue professional options in Latin and/or North America

 

ESMT Asia Scholarship

Number of scholarships available: three

Eligibility: Candidates with permanent residence in a South or East Asian / Australasian country

 

ESMT Central and Eastern Europe Scholarship

Number of scholarships available: five

Eligibility: Candidates with permanent residence in a Central or Eastern European country: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, Kosovo, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania, Romania, Bulgaria.

ESMT e-fellows Scholarship

ESMT Berlin is pleased to partner with e-fellows to offer a scholarship to e-fellows members, alumni or e-fellows MBA day participants.

Value:  up to € 10,000

Eligibility: A motivational essay explaining why you are the perfect candidate for the scholarship should accompany your application for admission to the EMBA program.

Bundeswehr Scholarships

Bundeswehr Scholarships

ESMT is pleased to offer all German Bundeswehr Officers who are exiting the military a 25% scholarship for the ESMT full-time MBA program.

Number of Scholarships available: Unlimited

Value: € 10,875

Eligibility:  Applications must be received within one year of the formal ending of service. Interested candidates must first be accepted to ESMT’s MBA programs and express their interest in the scholarship when applying.
