Support our historical garden fountain
The mosaic fountain located in the garden behind ESMT Berlin is an excellent example of modernist art, inspired by works of masters like Miró, Kandinsky and Matisse. Built in 1964, it was designed by Ortrud Lerch. The fountain, as well as the garden and the building, are under a preservation order for cultural heritage, and the garden is open to the public for viewing. The fountain has suffered during the decades and the scale of damage is extensive, with missing mosaics, broken structures, and vegetation growing through the surface.
ESMT is collecting funds for the restoration of the historic garden fountain. The aim of the project is to restore the fountain to its former glory. The restoration work will last approximately 6 months and cost approximately € 350,000.
